Inka Williams Shows Us the Cool Way to Wear Pink Makeup
Inka Williams has the face of an angel. It's true. So let's just get that out in the open right now. She's got a striking, natural beauty that takes your breath away and doesn't seem real — even when she's right in front of you. Which is probably why she's got nearly 700,000 followers on Instagram and Justin Bieber wants to hang out with her. True story.
For our latest #popaushoots — showcasing Autumn's hottest trend: buttery pink — we paired Inka's amazing features and blush outfits with a tonal makeup look to match, and the effect was mesmerising. But we get that when it comes to wearing colour on your eyes, pink can be a tricky shade to pull off.
Our makeup artist and hairstylist Elsa Morgan created this stunning beauty look on Inka and had a few tips for getting it just right:
- Layer a metallic shade underneath. Using a bronze or metallic-based eyeshadow as a primer for the pink adds depth to the look and it stops it washing out your skin tone.
- Keep the rest of your makeup tonal. A pink-based, natural-looking blush and lip colour will help tie your eyeshadow into your whole look and give it an awesome tonal finish.
- Define your eyes. Use a bronze or brown eyeliner to subtly line the top lash, a cream liner on the lower waterline, and then layer two to three coats of mascara. This will help to widen the eyes without dominating the eye look — you still want your eyeshadow to be the feature.
