Try This At Home: Kristen Wiig's Textured Ponytail


Joh Bailey dubbed the ponytail the foolproof way to reinvigorate dull, Winter hair, and today, Kristen Wiig proves it. The Girl Most Likely star brought a textured version of the classic hairstyle to her film's premiere today in New York, and we're in love. Achieving her volume and the right amount of "mess" (without looking dishevelled!) comes down to correct and minimal use of texturising products, but you needn't go overboard.

Start with towel-dried hair, and spray in a small amount of Kms California Playable Texture ($14.95). Tip head upside down, and rough dry until 90 percent dry. Part hair on the side and continue rough drying (securing your part line in place) until hair is completely dry. Dab a small amount of Schwarzkopf Extra Care Heidi’s Instant Volume Powder ($8.99) around the crown of your head. Massage fingers gently onto the scalp to create some volume, and then use a fine-tooth comb to smooth down any frizz. All that's left to do is pull hair back into a low ponytail!
