Laneige BB Cushion Review

This Cushion Foundation Does Wonderful Things For My Face

When pitching this story in our monthly planning meeting, I gave context by explaining that when I wear this foundation I feel like my skin looks as close to 'great' as it's ever going to get. I think my exact words were "I looked in the mirror and thought my skin looked like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's".

On reflection, that was a VERY bold statement, and one I almost retracted because I'm entirely aware the closest thing Rosie and I have in common is the fact I watch her YouTube videos . . . Regardless, my sentiment was true, my skin looks seriously brilliant when wearing this stuff.

To give context, I've been going through a bit of an anti-foundation phase. Understanding there's some privilege attached to a statement like that, I want to clarify it's not because my skin has been particularly "good" (although it's not bad), or because I'm trying to achieve a no-makeup, makeup look. To be honest, I just haven't been enjoying the texture that base products were leaving on my skin.

Then the Laneige BB Cushion landed in my life, and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Unlike other cushion foundations I've tried, not only does this product have good longevity and coverage, but the lightweight formula and application method of "pressing" the sponge into your skin somehow work together to create a super seamless appearance, that besides doing wonderful things for your face, leaves you double checking if you've even applied any product. It's truly that good. My only disappointment would be the shade range. With only fives shades on offer (I wear shade 21 Beige for reference), both lighter and deeper skin tones may struggle to find a good match.

Will this cover every mark and blemish? Certainly not. But it will leave you with a brighter and more even complexion, that mimics the look of real skin. Shop it below.
