Leighton Meester Talks Red Lipstick, Cate B and Glowing Skin

Spotted: Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester on the cover of UK Cosmo's September issue. The Herbal Essences global spokesperson looked every inch the bombshell with her big blowout but confessed that she doesn't wear makeup when she's not working. "Very rarely I’ll put on a little bit of concealer here and there," she says. Though we do share the same secret pick-me-up: classic red lipstick. According to Miss Meester "it does wonders," and I would have to agree. It's a fail-safe staple if you're feeling tired or a little bit meh. As for beauty icons, her adoration spreads far and wide and includes Aussie Cate Blanchett whom she says "glows from within." Then there's "Julianne Moore for having fair skin and a really beautiful smile . . . And I love how Helen Mirren has aged so gracefully. She’s gorgeous and quite sexy." As for staying in shape, Leighton's a girl after our own hearts: "Exercise is fun when it doesn’t feel like exercise. Swimming, walking around a new city while travelling and cycling are all great." xoxo
