The Men Behind the Hair and Makeup of Fashion Week
We sat down with four of our favourite men who are working tirelessly behind the scenes at Australian Fashion Week to bring you the hottest Winter beauty trends, tips and tricks.
First up is Nigel Stanislaus, Maybelline New York makeup director, who was the man behind the makeup of last night's Carla Zampatti, and has done countless fashion weeks around the world (including shows like Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs, to name a few!) So, our first question for him was, how do they differ to Australian Fashion Week? "Shows in Australia tend to still incorporate an element of a beach, bronzed look and skin is clear and illuminated. With the much cooler weather overseas, you see a richer colour palette with gem colours pulled through on the nails or lips."
Next, we chatted to Redken's triple threat, hair directors Richard Kavanagh, Jon Pulitano and Philip Barwick. They rock beards, tattoos and treat the tresses of a-listers and models like no one else. And we're talking, Richard has tamed the mane of Kelly Osbourne, Kimbra and Lorde (to name just a few!) Impressive much?
So join us, as we get to know them all a little better. . .
