Applying mascara is a skill. Once perfected, it will stay with you for life, but fail to master it and you’re on a one-way trip to Clumpsville. Follow these simple steps from Max Factor and your lashes will be the envy of everyone:
Eyes wide open: When coating your top lash line, it’s important to tilt your chin upwards, pull the outer brow up and open eyes wide to help separate your eyelashes.
First base: You want to start the application at the very base of the lash line. Place the wand there and glide it towards the tips of your lashes, moving it gently from side to side for good coverage.
Pencil it in: If you can’t get right to the roots with your mascara wand, use a soft kohl pencil in the same colour as your mascara in between your eyelashes. This will ensure that your mascara doesn’t look patchy along the base.
Don’t blink. The rest of our 5-Part Mascara Workshop is still to come—with oodles of mega-glam tips and tricks from the experts.
