Richard Kavanagh (Redken) wanted the hair at Michael Lo Sordo to echo the designer's collection. "Michael's taken a different direction with this collection, it's strong and graphic and futuristic and I wanted to echo that sentiment in the hair." That said, he still wanted the end result to be feminine so he picked a wet-look ponytail that went up slightly at the sides to emphasise models' cheekbones and enhance their femininity. If a model's hair was long, it was braided underneath the ponytail to not only reduce volume, but also give a slightly bumped-out effect at the back. Kavanagh was calling it a "slight alien vibe" which tied in with the futuristic element of the collection. The makeup was a new-take on the smoky eye, inspired by the sunset.
