I'll admit that I haven't always been Jennifer Lopez's biggest fan, but when she turned up to the premiere of The Back-up Plan, all was forgiven. Here ladies, is the perfect ready-in-10 day-to-night look. Aka The Perfect Back-up Plan when all else fails. Here's how to do it . . .
Hair: Begin by sectioning the hair into two horizontally. Tie up the top section and tong the bottom section with a large-barrelled iron. It doesn't have to be perfect and thick sections are fine; you're just looking to create a bit of volume.
Next, pull your fringe and face-framing layers forward and secure to one side. Tong the middle section of the hair, again using wide sections and a large-barrelled curling tong. Keep reading . . .
Put a few smaller waves in the front section of your hair and then section and pull back the area that you're going to tie up to create the half-up, half-down style. Backcomb the underneath of this section to create a bit of volume and use bobby pins to secure into place. Before securing, hold the hair where you'd like to pin it and push up a inch or so to add additional height. Pin into place and spritz with Kérastase Résistance Double Force Spray ($39.50) which can be re-worked after spraying. Handy if you want to re-do anything.
Makeup: After applying your foundation and dotting concealer only where it's needed, blend in BECCA Creme Blush in Hyacinth ($48) to the apples of your cheeks for a fresh flush.
Apply a gold shadow such as Chanel Ombre Essentielle Eyeshadow in Gold ($44) or L'Oreal Shadow Minerals in 11 Gold ($20.45) right up to the brow bone and follow with a mushroom shade, like Clinique Colour Surge Eye Shadow Stay Matte in Sable ($33), using it to line the upper and lower lash line. If you're heading out, you can waterline your lower lash line with kohl and add some falsies; if not, just a coat of mascara will finish the eyes off nicely. Leave your brows natural, but give them a brush.
