The Politics of Polish: Obama Launches Nail Lacquers

No, your eyes aren't deceiving you. The headline is true. President Obama has launched a trio of nail polish in collaboration with Le Métier De Beauté. Naturally the colours are red (Red-y to Win), white (Victory White) and blue (Bo Blue) and they come housed in a black cosmetics case, complete with Obama logo. No doubt hoping to ensure the youth vote via the US$40 set, it's a smart move by Obama and his team with nail polish being the fastest-growing segment in beauty between January and October 2011. Whether it works or not, we've got to say we'd be far more inclined to re-elect Julia Gillard if it meant a Gillard Gold nail polish was in the pipeline.
