Trend Alert: Purple Pouts as Seen on Leighton and Solange

I had a purple lipstick once. I was 12. I wore it with purple eyeshadow and thought I looked, like, totally rad. So didn't. See, I think purple is one of the HARDEST shades of lipstick to pull off, but try telling that to celebs. Not only is it big news in Frock Land, but Leighton Meester wore it to the Harry Winston Court of Jewels Recreation Launch in NYC this week and we also spied it on Solange Knowles at a Range Rover party in LA. Maybe she was trying to distract the attention away from B's banned fragrance commercial with a bold lip? Nice try, S. I'm still a little unconvinced about it. But then I remember thinking the same thing about orange back in the day. Sacré bleu!
