Reader Reviews: Simple Kind to Skin Wipes

We put the call out for readers who wanted to review the Simple Kind to Skin Wipes ($6.99), and seeing as though they are a favourite among models and the Sugar editors alike (they're actually the number one facial skincare brand in the UK), we weren't short of volunteers! Our chosen beauties have been putting the colourant-free, alcohol-free and artificial perfume-free cleansing wipes through their paces, and we can't wait to hear the results. Do they remove stubborn makeup? Are they safe for the most sensitive of skin sufferers? Let's see what our first round of reviewers had to say!

"I'm always a bit doubtful when it comes to cleansing wipes, but I have to admit my fears were misplaced with the Simple Kind to Skin Wipes. No filmy residue, no stinging and best of all it got off my Friday night Smokey eye. No more going to bed with my face on! I like the subtle clean smell, too." — Veronica

"Facial cleansing wipes are an essential for me, so I've tried more than my fair share! The Simple wipes stood out from others, mostly because they didn't leave my face feeling soapy. I often rinse after using other brands, but didn't feel the need with these puppies. In fact my skin felt so soft I could've skipped my night moistuiser. Very impressed." — Stacey

"Facial wipes have to be the best invention ever! After a night out, the last thing I want to do is spend time scraping off my makeup when all I really want to do is fall into bed but the Simple wipes made it so easy that I no longer had an excuse! They take off all my foundation, lipstick and eye makeup in a couple of minutes, although when wearing waterproof mascara I would have to use a separate eye makeup remover to get it all off. I have sensitive skin, so I’m usually a bit cautious about trying new facial wipes as I find they can sometimes be quite irritating, but I didn’t have a problem with the Simple facial wipes, in fact, my skin just felt clean and fresh afterwards. I will definitely be going out to buy more of these!" — Alana

"When it comes to looking after my skin, I'm pretty much the worst. I work long hours, and the last thing I feel like doing when I get home is going through a whole cleansing-toning-moisturising rigmarole. It might be a bit lazy, but just using a Simple facial wipe and a few dabs of moisturiser seems to be enough for my skin. The face wipes remove all traces of makeup, which is great considering I wear waterproof mascara and eyeliner. They also feel great — soft and gentle, not rough and full of chemicals. Some I've tried actually make my eyes water because the chemical smell is so overpowering. Simple wipes smell fresh and pretty, and leave me feeling clean and soft." — Jess

"I can't rave about the Simple wipes enough! Ever since I hit the big 3-0, my skin's been extremely dry, extremely sensitive and annoyingly prone to redness and small bumps. All the stuff that I thought would go away once I left my twenties! I'm so glad I gave the Simple wipes a go, I honestly feel like they've saved my skin. They're not abrasive like so many other versions I've tried, they're gentle on my skin, they make my face feel ultra clean and they're void of all the unnecessary crap that other brands put in their products. My favourite part though, is that I don't feel like I have the tightest face in the world after using them — my skin actually feels moisturised! Love them, they're my number on makeup product that I've tried so far." — Carla

"I’m a big fan of face wipes and was keen to try the Simple Kind to Skin Facial Wipes as I like what the brand stands for. As for the product? I love it! The wipe is soft (I’ve experienced some really harsh ones) and removed most of my eye makeup with one swipe. Waterproof mascara proved to be a little difficult but that’s usually the case. Everything else came off like a dream and my skin felt really nice after — no gross, oily residue. Would I use it again? Most definitely!" — Jen

"I only rely on wipes when I have no physical energy as I’m pretty obsessive with my night time skincare routine. So any facial wipes I use have to be amazing. I’m not that familiar with Simple’s products but I have to say I was impressed with the Simple Kind to Skin Facial Wipes. I don’t wear that much makeup anyway but it seemed to get most of it off! And I was pleasantly surprised that my skin felt really nice afterwards — I’ve used wipes before where I’ve had to rinse my face again after. So I’ll be keeping a pack of these handy for when I have no time to do my routine properly." — Kate

"I've actually been using Simple cleansing wipes for the last few years, and I'll never stray — I'm a huge fan. From the age of about 22 onwards, my skin has been super sensitive. I've tried quite a few different brands of facial wipes (ranging from expensive to cheap baby wipes) and the only ones I've gone back to again and again are Simple's. They don't sting my face at all — even after a shower, which tends to be prime stinging time — and they don't dry it out and leave my skin feeling tight. They make my skincare regime exactly as the name says: simple. That's the way beauty should be, if you ask me." — Anna
