First up, before I even get started on the moisturiser, can I just say how impressed I am with Aveeno’s swanky new packaging. The box has that great raw, recycled feel to it that I associate with natural products and it’s been certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, which is all about responsible forest management. Impressive.
Now. Onto the goods. I feel I should insert a little disclaimer here because I’m unfairly biased towards tinted moisturisers. I’m a Glow Getter. Sue me. But seriously, even I was surprised by how much I loved Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturiser with SPF 15. It blew my $70 previous tinted moisturiser (which in the issue of fairness shall remain unnamed) out of the water.
Why? How? Well first up let’s talk coverage. It’s lighter than your average foundation but still acts as a great cover up. Read: it reduced my under-eye circles significantly. Which, on its own, would be enough to make it a winner in my book. Its finish isn’t dewy-meets-sweaty, it’s dewy-meets-semi-matte-meets-brightening. Keep reading . . . I could see it reflecting light and just generally looking awesome if I looked at myself in the mirror. (Which I do a lot of.) It also features SPF 15, which yes, isn’t enough for you to sunbake in, but is a good level of protection when you’re in the office. The only downside is a slight sunscreen-y smell, but at the end of the day, it’s very subtle and I’d rather be scented and safe than unscented and unprotected.
Overall it’s up there with red lipstick in terms of totally altering and reawakening your beauty look and I will be relying on it (heavily) as we head into party season.
