Y'know when you try something and deep down (if you're being really honest with yourself), you're not expecting great things because it only cost $13? But then it blows you out of the water and you think, hang on just a minute buster, why have I been dropping half my monthly wage on skincare if I can get something this good for the price of two coffees? Well that is what happened to me when I tried Neutrogena Deep Clean® Cream Cleanser.
First up, I was quite taken with its appearance—the cleanser itself; the packaging not so much. It's got a kind if pearly finish which means you instantly believe that it really can make your skin more luminous. And a little goes a long way, which is always a bonus. I massaged it in circular motions, just like it said, paying particular attention to my nose and chin area, where I get the most clogged pores. Unsightly little things.
After rinsing my face (three times—that's a mini con, it was so good at lathering up that it did require some serious rinsing) I was quite impressed. There was no trace of any makeup (even liquid eyeliner had all but disappeared, though FYI, Neutrogena does say to avoid using around the eye area so maybe listen to them, not me. Don't want burnt eyeballs on my conscience). I even did the sneaky face wipe test to check that all dirt and grime and been removed. It had. And, most importantly, my skin didn't feel 'tight' clean like I've experienced in the past with slightly cheaper cleansers. Overall I'm a bit bowled over.
