Review of Revlon Photoready Foundation
Bella Reviews: Revlon PhotoReady Makeup SPF 20
Imagine a foundation that promises poreless skin under any light. A lightweight, professionally-designed formula that is said to be virtually undetectable. It retails for $36.95 and has been hailed the mass market version of NARS Sheer Glow. Big call or big deal?
Let's start with the packaging. Like most Revlon products, PhotoReady Makeup is both practical and stylish. People wouldn't be horrified if they saw Gucci Westman bust it out backstage. The pump applicator is great for controlling the amount of product and the foundation itself applies like a dream. Though slightly thicker than my usual choice, it's still definitely in the lightweight category and doesn't feel as though it's weighing your skin down. The finish is perfect—neither too matte nor too dewy—and it did what any good foundation should do: enhance my complexion, not mask it. Even after a 12-hour day, my skin still felt fresh, without any sign of an oil spill.
It also passed the ultimate Bathroom Light Test. I did not appear to look anywhere near as scary as I'm used to with this on. My only word of warning is that the light reflecting particles do appear more obvious than "virtually undetectable" in direct sunlight. Overall though, definitely worth checking out.
