Pop: I was somehow able to get through Day 1 without any Naomi Campbell-esque anger management incidents related to latte withdrawals. Now I know what to expect, I look forward to my latest juice instalment. Today I’m particularly crushing on the second juice: orange, acai berry, cucumber, pineapple, carrot and broccoli. It tastes like an Asian stir-fry in a bottle—and believe it or not, that’s a good thing. I’m sipping away on my juices all day and desperately trying to fit in the extra water and herbal tea in between. The only problem is I’m visiting the loo all the time. But I just remind myself that all the flushing I’m doing is literally flushing out toxins. I fixate on a picture of Gwyneth’s trainer Tracy Anderson and continue sipping.
Keep reading . . .Fab: Juice 1 is a lot easier to swallow this time 'round. I can taste lemon and apple rather than grass, which is a win! I become hungry quite quickly so start on Juice 2 soon afterwards. Sadly, I cave into my hunger pains and nibble on some organic tamari almonds to help get me through lunch. I feel gutted that I’ve “cheated” but at the same time, I know my body needs it. Juice 3 shortly follows and I keep sipping it 'til early afternoon. I’m surprised by how great Juice 5 tastes and am told it’ll have the ‘master cleanse’ effect. Lemon, water, Cayenne pepper and agave nectar make for a delicious treat. Mmmm. Admittedly, throughout the day I’ve felt little pangs of hunger but nothing too crazy. I’m surprised at how alert I feel and I strangely already feel lighter. Maybe this detox isn’t so bad . . .
