Feeling all sluggish and gnarly as we headed into Winter, and with Fab's wedding fast approaching, we decided to detox. We picked the Urban Remedy Juice Cleanse, which consists of six healthy, nutritional juices every day for either one, three of five days. Delivered to your door, it's one of the most convenient cleanses around to detoxify the body. Each day we'll be letting you know how we got on with a personalised diary by Pop and Fab . . .
Pop: It’s day one of Operation Cleanse and Renew! I’m embarking on a five day Urban Remedy juice cleanse to kick-start my lethargic body that seems to be moving into hibernation mode. I wake up and sip on my hot water and lemon to stimulate my digestion and then head to work. I walk the back way so I don’t have to see my coffee man and be tempted by a soy latte and evil hot cross bun. Juice is my God now! I start with the green nutrient juice. Who knew you could juice lettuce? I feel surprisingly alert and I’m not dying for a coffee to perk me up. I continue with my juice regime throughout the day and I’m surprised that I’m not ready to chew someone’s arm off from hunger. I head home and actually feel energised. One day down.

Fab: Probably not the best idea to start a JUICE detox when it’s miserable, freezing and raining outside [stay tuned for deets on Urban Remedy's Winter Cleanse], but I’m keen to give it a red-hot go. First juice reminds me of wheatgrass shots but I persist, gulping it all up instead of my usual cereal and coffee. Juices 2, 3, 4 and 5 don’t taste much better despite their different colours. I gobble on some cucumber slices to soothe my grumbling stomach. Juice 6 is a nutty, creamy concoction which manages to curb my desire for a nice warm dinner. I go to bed feeling empty but strangely not too lethargic. I think I’ve made it through day one quite well.
Bella (me) did not participate or did, for all of 30 minutes. Do not remotely attempt to do a five-day cleanse when you've been off with flu-like symptoms the day before and your diet includes a pack of Maltesers a day. Luckily Pop, lover of all things detox was on hand.
