Romance Was Born are famed as being the most outstanding show during the whole of MBFWA, and this year for the 20th year anniversary was mind blowing.
The theme was all about Australiana and paying homage to Linda Jackson — iconic artist and designer — it was all the best, and most memorable, parts of our history mixed up, chewed on and spat out into this colourful collection of inspiring creations. Ok, so this might not be your look for the weekend, but this is about inspiration, it's about theatre, and most importantly it's about making your mark and being the most memorable show of the entire week.
Nigel Stanislaus, makeup director for Maybelline NY, says, "The great thing about Romance Was Born is we get to play with colour, and more colour . . . and there's no two makeup looks the same." The team used a mixture of Maybelline Color Drama Lipsticks and Color Tattoo on the eyes, for bold, statement finishes. While Alan White, hair director for ghd, used wire, clay, feathers and braids for unique, art piece, hair creations.
