Spring 2011 Beauty Trend: Berry Lips
Spring '11 Trend to Try Now: Berry Nice
We've already discussed — at length — whether berry has a place in our lipstick wardrobe this Spring. The jury's still out but there's no denying that the Parisian runways and A-listers are making this a trend to sit up and take note of so we spoke to Maybelline NY makeup artist Nigel Stanislaus for his take on the trend . . .
Runway inspiration: Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Louis Vuitton
Celeb spots: Renée Zellweger in Harper's BAZAAR, Lauren Conrad at Teen Vogue's Young Hollywood party, Sienna Miller at the opening of the British Film Festival in France, Marion Cotillard at the Parisian premiere of Les Petits Mouchoirs
TIP #1: Berry "particularly suits pale skin tones as the shade offers a rich, luxurious and sophisticated look." All porcelain-toned beauties must give this look a whirl.
TIP #2: "This season, it's all about the satin and pearlised finish." Nigel recommends Maybelline NY's Color Sensational Lipcolor in Mauve-ulous ($16.95). "Not only is it sophisticated but it’s fashion forward and feminine." Sold.

TIP #4: For a soft and subtle look, "apply a small amount of lip colour to your fingertip and lightly dab across your lips to create a lip stain look."
TIP #5: Using a lip pencil will make the colour last longer: "Lightly feather the lip pencil across your lips before applying lipstick. Once applied, blot with a tissue and then dust with loose powder to extend the life of your lip colour."
