3 Top Tips For Combatting Feelings of Stress

We've already discovered that when you're stressed, you break out, so now we want to talk about how we combat and eradicate those feelings of stress so that our skin can relax, too. Below are three of my top tips for handling stress — and one thing not to do. Share your tips below in the comments, too.

TIP #1: Exercise. It may feel like the last thing you want to do when you've had a rubbish day in the office, but exercise helps to lower stress hormones such as cortisol and increases endorphins aka your body's "feel-good" chemicals. If you go for a run or hit the gym for 30 minutes, your bad day will suddenly feel a lot better.

TIP #2: Take a bath. When you're stressed, your energy levels can take a dip because, chances are, you're not sleeping all that great. A bath can be a great way to restore energy levels and relax you. Pick a lavender-infused bath oil or product to help calm you and throw in some Epsom or Dead Sea salts if you've been holding a lot of tension in your neck and back.

Keep reading . . .TIP #3: Talk to someone. The old adage, "a problem shared is a problem halved," is so true. Often things are never as bad as you think and talking to someone about something that's stressing you out will help you come up with a solution and feel more at ease.

AND DON'T: Go out and party! You may feel like a glass of vino will help de-stress you but it's actually only a temporary relief and stress, plus a hangover is not a place you want to be in.
