Tom Pecheux is a name you may not be familiar with but let me tell you, by the time 2010 is over, he will have changed your life – and look – forever.
The established makeup artist whose CV rolls like a who’s who of A-List fashion – he’s worked with Ralph Lauren, Givenchy, Balmain, Yves Saint Laurent and US and Paris Vogue – has been appointed as the new Creative Makeup Director for Estée Lauder.
Which has gotten everyone in the industry rather excited because Tom wants to “bring a strong fashion edge to the brand,” and loves “women with power and character,” such as Madame Lauder and you and me. (He didn't directly reference us but I've read between the lines.) Keep reading . . .
I’m particularly excited because he’s French and well you know how I feel about the French. And he’s a fully-trained pastry chef; master chef and makeup maestro – now that's a winning combination. WWD says that he'll work with Lauder's gorgeous Hilary Rhoda in US spring 2010 campaigns but that we'll probably see the bulk of his winning work later on in 2010.
