What Is Clown Contouring?

Clown Contouring: The Weirdly Flattering (and Empowering) New Beauty Trend

Lately, there has been a fantastic surge of empowering beauty trends. First, there was the viral #PowerOfMakeup hashtag, then women bared their breakouts in the name of #YouLookDisgusting. The latest hot beauty topic is a funny spin on extreme contouring techniques.

YouTube beauty vlogger BellaDeLune (whose real name is Esther Isabel Amado Romo) is showing off her sense of humour and striking back at the haters with clown contouring. This exaggerated method of applying highlight, shadow, and blush looks like a circus performer's face paint but appears flawless when blended.

"I can't tell you how many times I have been called a clown or been hated on because of the way I use this art form," explained Esther. "I just did this to show what a real payasa (clown) looks like." Prepare to laugh (and be impressed) at how Esther transforms a poop emoji and circles of blush into a glowing complexion.
