At only 24, you could easily be mistaken for thinking Brittney Lee Saunders is just at the beginning of her career. But with most just starting out at this age, Brittney has already reached a pinnacle of career success that is almost unfathomable. With more than one million eyes on her YouTube channel alone, Brittney shares beauty advice, makeup tutorials and her daily life with her loyal subscribers. Something she has been doing out of her bedroom in Newcastle since she was a teenager.
When questioned about her success, Brittney is humble about what she has achieved, attributing most of her success down to simple luck, "I got in at the right time," she says. But after meeting Brittney, we would argue it can be attributed to much more than that. Clearly business-minded, and with a level of relatability that keeps her audience coming back for more, it is clear Brittney isn't afraid to step outside her comfort zone. An avid Snapchat user, and with the launch of a new clothing label later this year, she continues to break down the stereotype of what beauty Vlogger's can do — all with more than a million eyes watching her every move.
We caught up with Brittany at the recent launch of her collaboration with Madame Tussauds, where we had the opportunity to talk with her about the responsibility that comes with having a large community, the shifting YouTube landscape in Australia, and her first beauty memory.
