Aubrey Plaza cast a spell on the red carpet when she debuted her new expensive blond hair color at the 13th Governors Awards on Nov. 19. While representing her new film, “Emily the Criminal,” the star made a spellbinding entrance in a plunging black Mônot dress, styled by Jessica Paster, and an elegant updo swept back into a mini bun. “Last night at @theacademy Governors Awards… so honored to attend and to represent my little indie that could!” Plaza captioned photos of herself at the red-carpet event on Instagram.

A mixture of winter blond and warm, honey blond, Plaza’s new hair, dyed and styled by hairstylist Mark Townsend, is the first time the actor has diverged from her signature brunette look since her strawberry-blond days in 2017, and the reviews are glowing. “Extra Extra hot !! Wowie!! Blondie!! !! .. Congrats on your film ,Aubrey !! ❤️❤️👏👏👏👏XOX,” Jennifer Coolidge commented on the post. Dan Levy also chimed in with a set of exclamation points, while Haley Lu Richardson added, “I have been opening and re opening Instagram for the last hour just to stare at this photo.”

Plaza’s makeup artist, Kathy Jeung, took inspiration from Old Hollywood glam and provided contrast to the actor’s new blond hair with dark eyebrows, sweeping mascara, and a bold lip that beautifully matched her cherry-red manicure.

Ahead of her “Agatha: Coven of Chaos” debut, Plaza’s look evokes sorceress vibes that have fans wondering if her new hair color is a clue about her Marvel character. As we speculate on whether Plaza will play a hero or a villain in the upcoming series, see her blond hair from all angles ahead.
