15 Beauty Trends From Fashion Week You’ll Actually Want to Try

As much as we look forward to spotting the season’s best new trends every time Fashion Week rolls around, we can’t help but zoom in on the tiny details that make the outfits come together. No, we’re not talking about the bicep jewelry or oversize purses – we mean the beauty details.

Your hair, nails, and makeup can add that finishing touch that makes any ensemble look good (or at least make you feel that way), and the beauty looks at New York Fashion Week were no exception. A sleek, high ponytail added a sophisticated edge to a black two-piece suit. A swipe of soft pastel nail polish took a fringe dress from edgy to flirty. The biggest impact is in the details when it comes to fashion.

Now that we’re nearing the end of New York Fashion Week, we’re breaking down the best hair, makeup, and nail moments from the last few days. The best part: each one is so easy to wear, they could never just be relegated to the runway. From twiste bun hairstyles and floating eyeliner to aura nails and everything in between, here are the most wearable beauty trends from New York Fashion Week 2023.

New York Fashion Week Nail Trend: Patterned French Manicure

The french manicure has already cemented itself as a crowd favorite over the last few years, and nowhere was that more apparent than on the streets during New York Fashion Week. This year we saw an especially vibrant variety of interchangeable designs, like this dark patterned look.

New York Fashion Week Makeup Trend: Floating Eyeliner

You may have seen floating eyeliner trending before, but you can expect the look to stick around for months to come. The eye look is perfect for accentuating your natural eye shape, as well as providing a pop of color to an outfit. (Or, you can keep it neutral with a white or black look, as shown here.)

New York Fashion Week Hair Trend: Microbangs

Microbangs were front and center throughout the week and are a perfect transitional look as you enter the colder months. “Microbangs can add flair to any hairstyle and work on all hair types – super curly, pin straight, updos, pixies, long, short, thick, thin, box braids, Afro,” Devin Toth, a hairstylist at Salon SCK in New York City, previously told POPSUGAR.

The Y2K-inspired pattern made a comeback this NYFW, only this time it’s not on as your phone case or down the side of your denim jeans. Rather, cow-print nails are the perfect way to subtly mix prints without being overwhelming.

Hair accessories are timeless, but cool factor comes in when you give a basic beauty look an unexpected twist – like this wire-spun ponytail holder that starts at the base of the pony and makes it way all the way to the mid-ends.

Half-moon nails – where the polish at the cuticle round differs from the rest of the nail – have been making a comeback already, but the look at Markarian felt especially celestial. Created by nail brand Essie, manicurists backstage, used silver and gold flecks like the Nail Polish in Summit of Style ($10).
