Benefit's New Microfilling Pen is the Brow Product You Desperately Need in Your Routine
—Benefit has gone and done it. They've created the one product that I've been desperately waiting for to fill out my brow routine. Everyone here knows I'm sickeningly obsessed with big, boyish, feathered brows, and if you're a regular reader, you probably also know I'm a bit of a commitment-phobe . . . so microblading, while intriguing, has always been off the table.
Enter: Benefit's new Microfilling Pen. The pen promises "the look of microbladed brows without the commitment" (or the pain), and, boy, does it deliver. The three-pronged custom tip allows you to make clean, controlled ultra-fine strokes, which means filling in gaps is so easy that even if you've never wielded a brow pen or pencil you'll still feel like a pro.
To apply, simply hold the three-pronged tip parallel to the brow bone with the longest tip towards the centre of the brow and follow the natural direction of the brow hairs while applying light, fluffy strokes. The tiered tip means that it actually mimics your natural hairs and blends softly into the skin, for the illusion of fuller-looking brows.
The lightweight formula makes it excellent for feathering in sparse areas, and when you turn it on its side so you're using a single tip, you're able to give the brow some much-needed definition whether it be in the arches or the tail. My only critique is I wish it had a brow brush on the tail-end of the pen — that way you could brush your brows into shape as you go and soften some of the product.
The pen comes in four shades: blonde, light brown, medium brown, and dark brown, and will set you back $45 — worth every cent.
Honestly, after one use of this product, a week before launch, I was bursting at the seams to recommend it to everyone I know. I feel like it's the brow product I didn't even know I was missing but so desperately needed.
