7 of the Best New Beauty Launches From October

The month is nearly over and that means a whole bunch of new beauty products have hit shelves. Each month, we curate a list of the best launches from that month, so you know what’s worth your time and money. October was a busy time for launches, especially in the makeup world.

While every new launch is exciting, these are seven new products that have been a highlight of recent weeks. From fun collaborations to skincare staples, brands like Lanolips, Biologi and Holme Beauty have produced products that I’ll revisit again and again.

Lano

Lanolips 101 Ointment Multi-Balm Salted Coconut & Mango Sorbet

Possibly the most whimsical and fun launch of this month is the collaboration between cult Aussie brands Lanolips and Messina. The limited-edition Lanolips 101 Ointment Multi-Balm Salted Coconut & Mango Sorbet ($13.50) takes inspiration from the flavours created by Messina and bottles them into Lano’s signature 101 Ointment. This baby is infused with natural coconut oil as well as mango fruit extract and vitamin E and can be used on dry lips, dehydrated skin, elbows and cuticles.

The product smells sweet (but not in a cloying way) and feels like a completely summer-appropriate balm that will be living in my handbag for easy access.

OPI

OPI Nature Strong

The latest launch from OPI marks the first-ever collection of natural origin and vegan nail lacquers created by the nail brand. Called OPI Nature Strong ($22.95), this collection includes 30 fun shades, as well as a Top Coat, that are made from plant-based ingredients like sugar cane, wheat, potatoes and corn. The packaging is also made from 20 per cent post-consumer recycled materials, so you can feel good about your polish choices.

The formula is easy to apply, dries quickly and the colour is super pigmented, giving it a solid seven-day life span on your nails. I’m personally obsessed with A Bloom With a View (above) and Spring Into Action — both seasonally perfect hues.

Vapour Beauty

Vapour Beauty Aura Multi Stick Blush

Vapour Beauty’s Aura Multi-Stick Blush ($55) is my new favourite multipurpose product, as it can be used for your cheeks, lips and eyes. With rich, pigmented colour that provides a natural wash on the skin, Vapour Beauty’s Blush is also cruelty-free, formulated without silicone, parabens and fillers and is 100 per cent waterless, helping to support water conversation. My favourite shade is Courtesan (above), which provides a healthy, dewy flush.

Holme Beauty

Holme Beauty Primer

Created by Australian makeup artist Hilary Holmes, the Holme Beauty Primer ($65) is formulated with Kakadu plum, hemp and jojoba oil and vitamin E and leaves a lit-from-within glow that helps to nourish skin and increase the longevity of your makeup. This product is tinted and according to Holme Beauty, suits 60 per cent of skin tones. Thankfully, two shade extensions are on their way — one for fair, alabaster skin and the other for deep and dark skin tones.

As someone who is always on the hunt for glow-giving products, I love how dewy and glowy I feel when using it. It smooths imperfections and creates the best possible base for your foundation.

Sulwhasoo

Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Emulsion

While this product was released at the end of September, it’s still worth including in the October round-up. Sulwhasoo’s Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Emulsion ($124) helps to replenish moisture in the skin. Beauty waters are commonplace in K-beauty skincare routines and this product helps to prepare the skin before layering on other products. Everything Sulwhasoo produces feels incredibly lovely and luxurious and this one is no different.

Ciaté

Ciaté London Dewy Stix Body Bronzing

With warm weather here to stay, you’ll be showing more skin in the coming months. Enter: Ciaté London’s Dewy Stix Body Bronzing ($37). This dry body oil is non-sticky and helps to enhance your natural glow while also hydrating skin thanks to the addition of coconut oil and vitamin E. It is available in two shades — Transparent and Shimmer — and my personal favourite is the colourless version as it provides the perfect glow when used on my collarbones, shoulders and arms.

Biologi

Biologi Bx Reveal Exfoliant

Biologi recently added a new product to its clean cosmeceutical range, called Bx Reveal Exfoliant ($59). Formulated with Kakadu plum and rice powder, this powder-based exfoliant is designed to work with a cleanser and when you mix the two together, it creates a creamy texture that polishes the skin while removing dead skin cells. The product is housed in individual sachets and a pack contains 15 of these.
