Gwyneth Paltrow’s Mysterious Ocean Wellness Retreat ‘Goop at Sea’ is Back

Have you seen chatter about ‘Goop at Sea’? This year, award-winning cruise line Celebrity Cruises are offering the chance to hit the high-seas with wellness queen Gwyneth Paltrow. They indulge in all things’ goop.’ The destination is the Italian Riviera and France, with the ship departing Barcelona on the 24th of September, 2022.

What We Know:

Goop has been partnered with Celebrity Cruises since 2020, and goop’s signature products have been available on board for some time. Paltrow was appointed Wellbeing Advisor for the cruise line in April 2021. The goop team curated wellness offerings, including on-demand wellness classes, detox smoothies, and fitness tools.

The History of Goop at Sea:

Goop at Sea has had a rocky start – initially slated for launch in 2020, the pandemic dampened our appetite for cruises. Paltrow even got herself in hot water that year by promoting the wrong cruise line when on Late Night with Seth Meyers. Despite the challenges, the cruise concept launched properly in 2021, but fans were slightly disappointed by the absence of Captain Paltrow herself – while there wasn’t full mutiny, chakras were misaligned.

This year, the minds behind goop at Sea have course-corrected, and Paltrow will be making an appearance on deck, appearing in conversation with a yet-to-be-disclosed wellness expert and answering audience questions (we have several about yoni eggs)

Attendees will also be able to attend interactive goop practitioner-led sessions with mind, body and soul focuses. There will be exclusive goop pop-up experiences, including tastings, product trials, massages and more – and of course, goop curated gifts and surprises.

The Celebrity Beyond:

So, if you’re curious enough to book flights to Barcelona and purchase your $750 ticket – you might want to check the vessel. The Celebrity Beyond has an outward-facing design providing 360 access to a breathtaking ocean vista.

There is a pretty formidable team behind the new fit-out. Celebrity Beyond showcases the talent of multi-award-winning British designer Kelly Hoppen and American designer Nate Berkus, Paris-based design firm Jouin Mnaku and British architect Tom Wright. Michelin-starred chef and restauranteur Daniel Boulud will be bringing ticket holders culinary delights.

Wellbeing with Water:

Kiki Koroshetz, goop’s VP of Content, says the company’s partnership with Celebrity Cruises is a natural extension of goop’s commitment to mental, spiritual, and physical wellbeing. “Travel can be a meaningful part of wellbeing and a curious approach to live,” Koroshetz told the media. Koroshetz added, “Our partnership with Celebrity Cruises has been focused on the intersection of exploration and wellness. We’ve been fortunate to bring some brilliant experts and teachers onboard. This new adventure – a mix of discovery and restoration – will be a wholly unique experience.”
