Hailey Bieber Gives Her French Manicure an Unexpected Upgrade

Say goodbye to glazed-doughnut nails and hello to animal print. On June 1, Hailey Bieber posted a bare-faced selfie on her Instagram Stories to promote a yet-to-be-launched Rhode beauty product. Inadvertently, Bieber also revealed her latest manicure, which was a pretty big departure from her classic looks.

Bieber’s nails were painted a pink shade to start, then a white smile line was added to each finger to create a traditional french manicure. Instead of stopping there, Bieber also added a red dotted design to the tips to mimic the look of crocodile skin. A few swipes of a glossy topcoat added a juicy reflective sheen.

French tips have been the look of choice for numerous celebrities, whether on the red carpet or for special occasions like an engagement. There have been various takes on the style (see: the shadow french manicure and the chrome french manicure), but Bieber’s version is yet another way that you can take a standalone trend and make it your own by choosing colors and designs that feel more “you.” Whether you opt for charms, gems, or a simple pattern as she did, french manicures are a perfect canvas to explore your creativity.
