Hailey Bieber is ready to dig up another beauty trend from the early aughts: rhinestone tattoos. On April 4, hot on the heels of her Grammys beauty moment, the model shared a mirror picture on her Instagram Story in a red fuzzy bucket hat, low-rise sweatpants, cropped T-shirt, and a bedazzled lower back featuring a butterfly shape. In the photo, Bieber wrote “@kalikennedy can we run back this rhinestone back tat?” and tagged makeup artist Kali Kennedy.

For those who missed the sensational body art trend the first time around, rhinestone tattoos were a staple in the late 1990s and early 2000s. They were often accompanied by Juicy Couture tracksuits, purse pups, and Razor flip phones. Given that everything old is new again (spiky updos, glossy lips, flipped-out ends. . .), we wouldn’t be surprised if this Y2K beauty trend made its way onto our summer must-have list.

Although Bieber already has an affinity for real ink – she already has an expansive collection of tattoos – she’s ready to bring back this fun, no-commitment body art. See Bieber’s rhinestone butterfly back tattoo below.
