Pimples are an annoying fact of life. And, while there is no real miracle cure for pimples — as what works for one person doesn’t work for the other — there are a number of ways to make managing pimples slightly easier. It’s important to note here that having acne is completely normal — most people experience it at some point or another and there’s no need to cover up zits if you don’t want to.

For those who experience angry, red pimples, this new hack could be a game-changer. You know those zits that feel tender, look inflamed and no matter how much concealer you use, simply can’t be covered up? Well, this latest TikTok hack, care of board-certified internal medicine physician and skincare expert Dr Zion Ko Lamm, is for you.

The next time you experience one of these zits, simply grab a bottle of eye drops and using a cotton tip, pop a few drops on your zit to reduce redness. The one caveat here is that the eye drops must be “redness relief” ones, in order to properly reduce the red appearance. That’s it!

“Eye drops that contain ‘redness relief’ properties contain vasoconstricting ingredients which can help reduce the redness,” Dr Lamm wrote on Instagram. “The results are temporary and these ingredients do not actually help ‘treat’ your acne.”

While not a long term treatment, this hack is great if you’re wanting to temporarily reduce redness in order to cover your pimple for an event. According to Dr Lamm, this could also be used under your eyes to temporarily “help with vascular-type dark circles”. The more you know!
