Jesinta Franklin Multi-Masks to Deeply Hydrate Her Skin and We've Been Missing Out
Earlier this year Jesinta and Husband Buddy Franklin welcomed their baby girl, Tullulah into the world. When Jesinta initially announced her pregnancy via her lifestyle app, JESINTA in August last year she spoke about the journey she and Buddy went through to fall pregnant.
"The journey to get here hasn't been easy and this little life is the greatest gift and we feel truly blessed and grateful that we will have a little angel of our own. We have both dreamt of this for a long time and whilst the last 2.5 years have been physically and emotionally challenging, there's nothing we would change as it's brought us to this beautiful moment. The immense love we already have for our baby is indescribable and we can't wait to meet our little miracle," she said.
Now, the model and Olay Ambassador's days are filled with all the beauty and chaos that comes with being a new mum. We caught up with her to talk about how she still manages to squeeze in self-care, how her beauty routine has changed since having Tullulah and her unique smoothie hack that she swears isn't as gross as it sounds.
POPSUGAR Australia: Has your skincare routine changed much from pre to post-pregnancy?
Jesinta Franklin: The main thing that has changed since having Tullulah is the amount of time I get to spend on my skincare routine, everything is sped up now which is why product efficiency is so important. Having products that actually work and do what they say they will is super important as I don't have the luxury of time anymore. Having a regime with products that work means that even those days when I don't get the chance to wear makeup, I feel confident and comfortable with a bare face as my skin feels fresh and radiant.
PS: Can you walk us through your morning routine . . .
Jesinta Franklin: I keep it simple, my morning routine consists of cleansing with a cream cleanser followed by moisturising with the Olay Regenerist Whip UV ($49) with SPF30 so my skin is protected on my morning walk. The Whip moisturiser provides 8hr shine control and also has all the anti-ageing benefits I love in a moisturiser. I then finish with a spritz of the new Olay Ultimate Mist Hydration Energizing Essence ($35). I use the Energizing Essence with Niacinamide and Bergamot Extract, it's a great pick-me-up after a long night with the baby, it makes me feel refreshed and ready for the day.
PS: Being a new, busy mum, what does your new getting ready routine look like?
Jesinta: As all new mums will tell you, getting time to yourself is almost impossible with a newborn, so I've started to get into a routine of setting an alarm 15-20 minutes before Tullulah wakes up in the morning to ensure I get a little bit of uninterrupted time to myself. I use this time to dry brush my skin, shower, apply my skincare, and get dressed for the day. This doesn't always happen as planned (and I don't get to shower until late in the afternoon some days) but the days in which I can make this happen I feel so much better.
PS: When you do get a moment to yourself to practice self-care, what's the first thing you do?
Jesinta: The other night I ran myself a bath, put my favourite music on and gave myself a face mask. Usually that's my Sunday night ritual every week but this was the first time since giving birth to my daughter that I had the opportunity to do something like this. My skin really needed the love, so I made the most of my time and multi-masked. I applied the Japanese inspired Olay Skinfusion Sake Yeast Sheet Mask ($10) which is like a second skin when applied and makes everything feel so plump! Followed by the Olay Magnemask Rejuvenating Jar Mask ($55) which I applied directly onto the skin. I then used the Magnetic Infuser that allows the product to penetrate deeper into my skin for optimum results. I love the jar mask because I can leave it on overnight and there's no need to wash it off. The multi-masking treatment left my skin feeling so good, I woke up a new woman and felt like I'd had a proper facial at a clinic.
PS: What are your go-to wellness products?
Jesinta: If I have a smoothie I always make sure I add bone broth. It sounds gross but you can't taste it at all. It's a great way to make your smoothie more nutrient-dense. I simply pour bone broth into an ice cube tray and then when I make a smoothie put two to three cubes in the blender. I promise you can't taste it!
