The Latest Hair Accessory From Justine Marjan and Kitsch Encourages Voters to Take Action
Justine Marjan knows a thing or two about statement-making accessories — her collection of crystal-emblazoned hair clips have earned her a Power Your Pretty Award at POPSUGAR — but her latest design is sending the most important message of them all. In honour of this year's upcoming election, the celebrity hairstylist has once again joined forces with accessories brand Kitsch to release a special "Vote" rhinestone hair pin that encourages eligible voters to get involved this election season.
The pin was created in collaboration with When We All Vote, a nonprofit organisation launched by Michelle Obama to increase voter participation in every election. According to a product description, each pin is made with pavé glass rhinestones, and 100 percent of the proceeds from every piece ordered will go to When We All Vote "to help encourage those who haven't registered to get out and make a difference."
"The right to vote is something we are so lucky to have," Kitsch CEO, Cassandra Thurswell, said in a statement. "We want the 'VOTE' bobby pin to serve as a constant reminder of our voices and the opportunities they offer us to make direct change. Our fans have never shied away from expressive accessories and we know the partnership with When We All Vote is really going to resonate."
Marjan also mentioned that her idea to create the pin was inspired by When We All Vote cochair, Kerry Washington, and both of their eagerness to send a message about low voter turnout due to voter suppression and disenfranchisement. "Everyone who knows and follows me knows that I have an interest and passion for social justice and am eager to educate those around me," she said. "With the upcoming election cycle, I want to encourage young people to vote in the local elections as well as national, so that all our voices can truly be heard."
The Justine Marjan x Kitsch x When We All Vote pins are now available over at Kitsch at $29 each. Read ahead to shop and get a closer look at them.
