Whenever a celebrity gets engaged it’s hard to look at anything other than the sparkly ring on their finger, but oftentimes it’s not the only detail worth noting on their hands. Their nails usually also have some fun surprises. Earlier this week, Kate Hudson got engaged to longtime boyfriend Danny Fujikawa and revealed the news in the best way possible: during the Met Gala. On the red carpet, the massive cushion-cut diamond could be spotted popping out from under her pink feathered sleeves along with a classic, deep french manicure.
Hudson’s oval-shaped mani had to pull double duty as both her engagement and Met Gala nails, but the crisp pink and white design lived up to the challenge. Manicurist Elina Ogawa created the nail art look, which matched her pretty, pink Michael Kors ensemble.
We’ve been seeing an uptick in classic white french manicures. Celebrities such as Lizzo, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, and Hailee Steinfeld have all worn the nail art look recently and on Sunday, Britney Spears revealed she and Sam Asghari were engaged with a close-up shot of the diamond ring and a bright red french manicure.
