The Brow Gel I Swear By For Fluffy, Brushed Up Brows That Never Turn Crispy or Crunchy

Kosas

When it comes to clear eyebrow gels, there is a lot of hit and miss products on the market. Many clear gels apply well and mimic the look of brushed up soap brows but after the gel dries, can turn crusty and crispy on your brow hair, which is basically my worst nightmare. Even when I don’t wear makeup, I always swipe brow gel through my eyebrows to make them look as fluffy and put together as possible, so it’s safe to say I’m a fan of brow gel.

Over the last few months, there has been a plethora of eyebrow product launches with a number of brands releasing both clear and tinted gels, soap brow products and pencils. Given the sheer number of these launches, it’s easy to become overwhelmed and nearly impossible to try them all.

But, having tried many of them for myself, I can say that the new launch by Kosas is definitely worth your time and money. Packaged in a clear plastic tube that has a pretty iridescent effect, the Kosas Air Brow Clear Lifting Treatment Gel ($33) is formulated with hyaluronic acid, to strengthen and condition your brow hair, panthenol provitamin B5, to help revive those brow hairs that are looking a little lacklustre, trehalose, to hydrate and condition and biotinoyl tripeptide-1 to support healthy and full hair.

The product also contains plant-based fibres that coat your brow hairs to increase volume and fullness, while the specially designed triangular spoolie lifts each individual brow hair and allows me to really define my brows with the brush tip. The result is brushed up brows that stay put all day. I’ve worn this product every single day for the past few weeks and in the beginning, was diligently checking on the progress of my brows throughout the day.

To my surprise, the brows were pretty much all in place by the end of the day and didn’t look crispy or crusty. In fact, even at the end of a long day, my brows still looked fluffy and laminated. Previous to trying the Kosas Air Brow Clear Lifting Treatment Gel, I was testing out a few clear brow gels but hadn’t landed on something I really loved.

Kosas Air Brow with no makeup and with makeup.

That has officially changed with this little baby in my life. My brows never look painted on or are left with a film that can develop with other products. In fact, my brows still feel soft to touch even with the Kosas Air Brow on and look fresh and fluffy all day long. At $33, this product is on the more expensive side given the size so it’s understandable if you balk at spending this much on a brow gel.

But, a few weeks in and the formula itself still looks clear and hasn’t yet turned cloudy thanks to makeup inevitability ending up in the tube. And, as for the performance of the product, well, you can probably tell that I’m pretty chuffed with that. If you’re keen to try a new clear brow gel but you’re unsure where to start, consider giving this one a go.

You can find the Air Brow Clear Lifting Treatment Gel in-store and online at MECCA.
