Kourtney Kardashian Debuts a Blond Bob Inspired by Her Teenage Self

Kourtney Kardashian is in her blond era. The Lemme founder recently dyed her signature dark brown hair platinum blond, marking her most drastic beauty transformation in decades. Kardashian debuted the new look on March 4, posting several Instagram photos wearing a leather corset top with her icy bob hairstyle parted down the middle. That same evening, she showed off the bleached color while attending a UFC match in Las Vegas with husband Travis Barker.

Kardashian’s dye job was executed by colorist Cassondra Kaeding, co-owner of Crâne salon in Los Angeles, while stylist Glen Coco Oropeza used Aveda products to style the reality star’s hair during her Vegas trip. It turns out the inspiration for Kardashian’s makeover was twofold; she had a similar hair color as a teenager, which she revealed while posting throwback photos on Instagram Stories on March 5. “17 year old Kourt,” she captioned one, while writing over the other, “1995 bored during finals, convinces someone to dye my hair blonde to procrastinate.” She also shared a snap of Drew Barrymore rocking a similar blond bob in the ’90s, citing the actor as her “hair inspo.”

Kardashian, who’s been sporting a chin-grazing bob since 2021, isn’t the only member of her famous family who’s experimented with blond hair. Kim Kardashian has been switching off between super-long blond hair and her natural brown color lately, while Khloé Kardashian has had a honey-blond color for a few months now. Kendall Jenner famously debuted a lightened-up look on the London Fashion Week runway in 2019, and Kylie Jenner has tested out various shades of blond through the years. Even matriarch Kris Jenner has dabbled in lighter colors, like when she fueled tons of memes by wearing a frosty blond wig back in 2017.
