True fans of Kylie Jenner know she takes her manicures very seriously. In the past, she’s rocked neon stars, dreamy pastels, dainty designs, and perfect french tips. But despite her love for all things a little extra, she kept it simple this weekend for her sister Kourtney Kardashian’s wedding to Travis Barker. She posted a photo of her nail design on Instagram featuring almond-shaped acrylics with a silver chrome french design, along with other photos from the celebratory weekend in Portofino, Italy.

Chrome nails have been trending as of late on the red carpet, with celebrities like Dua Lipa, Zendaya, and Rihanna all rocking the look. However, this is the first time we’ve seen them on Jenner, and now we know they’re officially wedding-approved.

For those who’ve never heard of the trend, celebrity manicurist and educator Julie Kandalec previously told POPSUGAR exactly what makes chrome manicures so special. “Chrome nails are a type of nail design or polish that uses special ingredients in chrome powder to give a metallic, reflective, mirrored finish to the nail,” she said, noting that colors like rose gold and silver seem especially popular right now.

The look is often created using a special powder, which was initially inaccessible to the general public. “When it first came out, the chrome pigment was extremely hard to find and was very expensive – about $25 for a very small bottle,” Kandalec said. Since then, chrome products have become much easier to find, and now people can re-create a look like Jenner’s at home.

Now that Jenner has debuted her own chrome nail art, this could be a whole new beauty era for her and her manicurist. This nail trend is all about keeping things polished (literally). Check out Jenner’s wedding nails ahead.
