I’ve Entered My “Swamp Girl Era” Thanks to Lush’s “Shrek” Collection

Alexa, play “All Star” by Smash Mouth. If there’s one brand who knows how to do a collaboration, it’s Lush. Only a few weeks ago it shook the internet with its milky white “Saltburn” bath bomb and we can’t forget the “SpongeBob SquarePants” range which featured a five-layer Krabby Bathy.

This time, Lush has declared the clean girl aesthetic officially over with the “swamp girl era” taking its place. If you’re anything like me, you know that Shrek is love, Shrek is life (IYKYK). I’ve been known to attend a “Shrek”-themed rave from time to time and I’ve always said that Fiona is my spirit animal (you know . . . curvy, ginger, girl boss). Thanks to Lush, I can finally live out my far, far away fantasies. All I need now is a terrifying ogre.

So, grab your torch and pitchforks and keep scrolling to discover the entire Lush x “Shrek” collection and how you can get your hands on it. This is the part where you read on.

What Products Are in the Lush x “Shrek” Collection?

The Lush x “Shrek” collection features six brand-new products and one ogre-fied version of their best-selling face mask, the Mask of Magnaminty.

There are three bath products in the range. The Shrek Swamp Bath Bomb (£8) transforms your bath water into a browny-green swampy dream and it’s packed full rhassoul mud, oakmoss and seaweed for an earthy aroma. The Gingy Bubble Bar (£7.50) smells freshly baked and even features little gumdrop buttons – plus, you can reenact the “do you know the muffin man?” scene. And the Donkey Bath Bomb (£6) takes inspiration from his favourite food – waffles. I bet you ain’t never seen a donkey fizz in your bathtub.

If you prefer an everything shower, there are a couple of products for you. Don’t let the mossy colour of the Get Outta My Swamp Shower Slime (£9) scare you, it’s actually got a really nice minty chocolate smell. For my fellow Fionas, the Fiona Shower Gel (£10) is fresh and cooling, with hints of melon and cucumber – exactly what you need after a day of kicking Robin Hood’s butt.

I was worried when I saw the body spray, wondering if Lush was going to take “ogres are like onions” too literally but luckily the By Night One Way, By Day Another Body Spray (£35) smells like lime and mango leaf.

And to round-off the collection, the Mask of Magnaminty (£10) has already been donned the “Shrek” pack by customers in South Korea, so Lush has updated it with a special label to celebrate the collaboration.

My Top Picks From the Lush x “Shrek” Collection

I’m already a huge fan of the Lush bubble bars so the Gingy Bubble Bar is a clear winner for me. I might be 27 years old but I gave my best Lord Farquad impression while crumbling little Gingy’s legs under the running water. “I’m not the monster here. You are!” I loved the subtle ginger and cinnamon aromas that smell like freshly-baked goodness.

But the standout product for me has to be the Shrek Swamp Bath Bomb. If you’re looking for the ultimate “Shrek” experience, this is it. It transformed my bath water into a mossy, muddy heaven. As I lay there shouting “What are ya doin’ in my swamp?!” in my best Scottish accent, there was a thick, bubbly layer of green pond scum forming on the top of the water and it really made me feel like I was actually in the opening credits of the movie. I was pleasantly surprised when little bits of twig starting floating to the surface, really enhancing the experience. I was just missing some mud, a thick mud mask in the shape of a slug would of been the icing on the cake (or the scum on the swamp you might say).
