The $8 Product Aussie Actress Maddison Brown Swears By For Good, Glowy Hair
I first became obsessed with Australia actress and all round cool girl, Maddison Brown when I spotted her in a relatable and hilarious short called "CHILL is not a thing" by Gracie Otto, honestly if you haven't seen if, watch it.
Not long after that she popped up on our screens as Kirby Anders in Dynasty (also a good iso-watch), and now she's officially Pantene's newest ambassador, following in the footsteps of Priyanka Chopra, Selena Gomez and fellow Aussie actress, Pia Miller.
POPSUGAR Australia caught up with Maddison while she's isolating abroad who told us her $8 secret to having good, glowy hair, why she falls asleep on FaceTimes (I thought it was just me), and her must-pack inflight beauty essential.
POPSUGAR Australia: Can you walk us through your morning routine . . .
Maddison Brown: I do a full skincare routine as soon as I wake up. Before I leave the house I always ensure my hair feels clean and nourished. I'm currently using Pantene's Pro V's new formula upgrade, so I don't have to wash it every day. It has 0% silicone which is a huge bonus as I don't need to worry about two-day grease.
PS: And evening . . .
Maddison: Again I do a full skincare routine, a few nights a week I will also do a sheet mask for extra hydration. I usually wash my hair in the evenings every few days and let it dry naturally while I'm cooking dinner.
PS: If you've only got 5 minutes to get ready what products do you reach for?
Maddison: Every day is different depending on my schedule! I always tone, moisturise and put SPF on my skin even when I have to cut my routine down for time. Thankfully my hair is always looking health and hydrated from the nourishing ingredients in Pantene Pro-V, so it's easy to do a quick style.
PS: When you do get a moment to yourself to practice self-care, what's the first thing you do?
Maddison: I'm starting to really appreciate yoga, and I love going for a long walk with my dog listening to music and zoning out. Sometimes it's as simple as lighting one of my favourite candles.
PS: What are your go-to wellness products?
Maddison: I take Zinc every day for my skin, as well as Vitamin C and Magnesium. Sometimes it hard to get my greens in so I put a lot of baby kale and spinach in my smoothies. I put maca powder in my smoothies too, to help balance hormones and increase energy. I've also recently discovered the Ayurvedic practice of oil pulling. I do it with Coconut Oil morning and night, and I'm obsessed with it.
PS: Being an actress you often work crazy hours on set, how do you make sure you're well rested and ready to go?
Maddison: If I'm really struggling to sleep, I drink Chamomile tea and take a Melatonin supplement, or I FaceTime my mum and she stays on the phone with me until I fall asleep. Weirdly, that works!
PS: Do you have an inflight beauty essential to keep your skin hydration on a long-haul?
Maddison: Yes! I love the SK-II Pitera Essence Sheet Masks, I always buy them at the airport and take them on board with me. I do a mask about an hour before the flight lands, plus I drink a LOT of water.
