Today in beauty launches that made me crave Summer: Benefit Cosmetic's new California Kissin' Colorbalm. The minute I saw these little babies I knew I had to try them. I'm not the biggest fan of lipstick in Summer, I usually find them too thick, cakey and chalky, regardless of how creamy the formula may seem.

So when a brand brings out a tinted balm or oil, I make it my mission to trial it. So what's the verdict? Short version: I'm obsessed.

Long version: These little handbag staples take the best part of a lipstick, a life-giving pop of colour, combined it with the lush, hydrating feel of a lip balm. And while the sheer shine slips away the colour stays on your lips for up to eight hours.

They're also not kidding when they say they're super hydrating! The silky-smooth formula contains hydrating ingredients like wild mango butter (mmm, mangos!), loofah seed oil and hero-hydrator, hyaluronic acid, so it pairs perfectly with your dry lips. The ColourBalm comes in 12 different colours ranging from pinky-beige and peachy-corals right through to deep berries and cherry red (my new go-to), so there's one for every occasion: work, beach, date night etc.

if you're looking for a little less shine and colour, apply the balm while you're getting ready and gently dab it off when you're about to leave the house. This way it leaves a subtle flush of colour on your lips without the shine or intensity. Another cheeky hack (that'll be funny in a second), it also doubles as a cheek tint. Just swipe a little across your fingertips and dab it into your cheekbones up towards your temples. Viola, a sheer, subtle flush of colour to make your cheeks really pop. Who doesn't love an effortless multi-use product?!

They come in at a relatively reasonable price point of $37, and when you consider that it's basically three products in one, a lipstick, balm and cheek tint, it's well worth the swipe of your debit card.

Overall, I've had them for 72 hours and they've already earned a spot in my makeup bag. That's it. That's the review.
