We’ve waited not-so-patiently for this news since Selena Gomez launched her brand Rare Beauty in September 2020. Since its launch, Rare Beauty has only been available to those living in the United States, but now, fans in Australia will soon be able to get their hands on the beauty goodies designed by Gomez.
As of August 5, beauty enthusiasts will be able to shop Rare Beauty in-store and online at Sephora Australia. The full line of cosmetics — which includes 14 categories and 133 products — will be available for your shopping pleasure and we are so damn excited to see the Rare Beauty brand in the flesh.
Gomez’s passion for beauty products began at a young age and over the last three years, she has channelled this love into the development of her very own beauty brand. With Rare Beauty, Gomez wanted to create products that were a celebration of self-love and acceptance, rather than a tool of covering up or hiding.
“I’m so excited to release beauty products that not only feel great, but also celebrate what makes each of us rare,” Gomez said in a statement. “These products aren’t about being someone else, it’s about being who you are, whether that’s rocking a full face of bold makeup or barely any makeup at all. Makeup is something to enjoy; it’s not something you need. I want every person to feel beautiful exactly as they are.”
The news that Rare Beauty was making its way to Australia was announced in May this year, with a video shared on the Rare Beauty Instagram account. In the announcement, Gomez revealed that the mission of Rare Beauty was “to help everyone celebrate their individuality,” she said.
“We are all unique and that’s what makes each and every one of us beautiful. Rare is such a special word to me, it’s all about eliminating the need for perfection. It’s about being comfortable with who you are, embracing who you are, loving who you are and accepting it. I want all of us to stop comparing and to start embracing our own uniqueness.”
While we wait a little bit longer to get our hands on the Rare Beauty goodies, here are a few of the products we’re currently pining over and will be snapping up as soon as they land in our local Sephora on August 5.
