I Had My Teeth Whitened And SO Many People Slid Into My DMs
Mainly to ask me where I got them done but hey, I'll take it.
Recently Sparkling White Smile popped into the office, coming to you is part of their service, to whiten my teeth. I've only ever had them done once before in my life, I was in my teens and had just gotten my braces off. So I kinda had some idea of what I was in for but the whole at home (or work in this case) process felt very new.
How does it work?
The service is completely mobile meaning they come to you, yep even to your small Sydney apartment, and set up on site. Once they're all set up you recline back in a chair and the service begins. The technician applies a 6% peroxide solution (dentists often use 30% which is a lot harsher on your teeth) to your teeth and you sit under a light for three 25 minute increments (1.5 hours all up) while your teeth get anywhere from five to 14 shades whiter.
What happens post-treatment?
For three days you'll need to stay away from coloured foods, red wine and anything that might even remotely look like staining your teeth. You'll also get a little whitening pen that you'll need to apply to your teeth and leave on for five minutes morning and night to make sure you see the best results.
Does it hurt?
Short answer, not really. Though the technician advises that your teeth might be a little sensitive (hello, me!) for a few says after as the whitening can expose some nerves in your teeth. That said, a few of us in the office had the treatment and out of all of us, I was the only one to experience any pain post-treatment. I have slightly sensitive teeth anyway so the teeth whitening obviously triggered them. Nothing 12hours and a bunch of Advil couldn't remedy though.
How long does it last?
The treatment lasts anywhere from 6-12 months, depending on how well you look after your teeth post treatment (maybe easy up on the coffee and red wine if you'd like good, long lasting results).
What does it cost?
The whole experience will only set you back around $300, which is honestly so reasonable considering the results and how convenient it is.
What are the results like?
For me, it was like I got my braces off all over again, I legit smiled at everyone hoping they'd notice my new white smile. The whole experience (minus the nerve pain) was super easy and worth it for such good results, don't believe me? Have a look at these chompers from their Instagram. . .
