Thankyou’s New Range of Beauty Products Is Completely Plastic-Free

Thankyou, the Australian social enterprise, has launched its very own beauty collection that is completely plastic-free. That’s right, not a single scrap of plastic is used within the packaging, while the products themselves are made with nourishing plant-based ingredients.

The collection includes four new body bars, as well as a lotion bar, a shampoo bar and a conditioner bar. The body bars are formulated with delicious smelling essentials oils and organic Australian oats, hemp seed oil, coconut oil, while the shampoo and conditioner bars include chamomile and Australian rose water.

Not only are the products packaged in recycled cardboard but they are also made with recirculated water, are 100% vegan, cruelty-free and made with sustainably sourced and naturally derived ingredients. Thankyou’s mission to create products that are good for you as well as humanity has most definitely come to fruition with these beauty bars.

Of the bars, our favourite is most definitely the Exfoliating Body Bar with Lemon Myrtle and Poppy Seeds ($3.50). Not only does it do a great job of exfoliating your body (and is perfect to use to prep your skin before using fake tan) but it also smells amazing.

“We love this quote by Mark Twain; ‘Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.’ – so these steps we’re making as a business are just the beginning of an exciting new chapter we find ourselves in at Thankyou,” said Daniel Flynn, managing director and co-founder of Thankyou.

In August 2020, the team at Thankyou announced it would stop selling its branded water bottles as the company could no longer in good conscious continue the production of this product which has a long-term environmental impact.

Thankyou’s mission is to help end extreme poverty and while the sale of water bottles allowed the company to work towards this for many years, the team decided it was no longer viable.

Thankyou now focuses on other consumer products — including soaps, body washes and baby products — that people love to use, with every product contributing towards ending global poverty. To date, Thankyou has raised over $17 million to help the lives of people across 22 countries.

You can find these new products in selected Chemist Warehouse stores as well as in Coles, Big W and IGA, and very soon, Woolworths.
