Ultra Violette's New Zinc-Based SPF Is 50+ But Looks and Feels Like a Second-Skin
As if my shelf wasn't already lined with enough of their royal blue tubes, cult Australian sunscreen brand Ultra Violette has gone and added one more to my collection, the new Lean Screen mineral sunscreen.
Perfectly timed for Summer, their new zinc-only formula contains minimal ingredients with maximum UVA and UVB protection. Unlike the other physical sunscreens you may have tried, this one won't feel heavy or suffocating your skin. I should know, I wore it over the long weekend at the beach (my mug above) and was seriously impressed.
Straight off the bat, I decided this one was going to be my beach day/outdoor adventure staple. Mainly because it's a zinc-based formula, meaning it's a little more intense (read: thicker) than your daily SPF.
The hero ingredient, zinc oxide is really good at shielding your skin from harmful (and ageing) UVA and UVB rays. That coupled with pentavitin and kakadu plum, UV's skin-loving duo, means it's also super hydrating and nourishing for the skin. Once applied, it felt like a second skin (or skinscreen as UV have coined it), it was light, breathable and most importantly, protective — it's 50+.
