2010 Oscar Prediction: The Hurt Locker to Win Best Picture
2010 Oscar Predictions: Best Picture
We finally made it! After predicting all of the major awards for this Monday's Oscars, we've come to the biggest cheese of them all: Best Picture. With 10 nominees, an Oscar first, this is perhaps the most difficult category to predict. But like the race for Best Director, I think it comes down to the exes.
Our Favourite: The Hurt Locker
Enthralling war drama The Hurt Locker is the little movie that could—and the sleeper hit of awards season. The movie and its director Kathryn Bigelow have been picking up steam over early favourite Avatar, especially in the past couple of weeks. The film is the complete package, with both a strong script and visuals, giving it a definite advantage over some other big name movies in the race.
Our Darkhorse: Avatar
And don't forget to check out our whizz-bang 2010 printable Oscar ballot ahead of Monday's award shenanigans. We—along with Fab and Bella, of course—will be covering all of the day's action, including the red carpet, the winners and the press room gossip. So stay tuned. May the tipping begin!
