Aussie Ladies Join Cleo For a Lunch to Decide This Year's Most Eligible Bachelors
Australian models, actresses, TV and fashion personalities, DJs and gossip columnists gathered at Otto Ristorante in Woolloomooloo for the annual Cleo Bachelor of the Year judging lunch yesterday. The panel joined Cleo editor Gemma Crisp in selecting which guys would make it into this year’s Top 50 Bachelors shortlist after looking through a booklet of candidates that included celebrities, sports stars, doctors and tradesmen — many of them slash-models! Some of the girls joked that it was a “tough job,” and the panel was encouraged to read through bios instead of making decisions based on shirtless pictures!
Many of the panellists also found friends, former boyfriends and personal trainers included in the line-up, but the biggest shock came to WAG and blogger Zoë Stenmark, who came across a picture of her 19-year-old twin brothers. Radio host Maude Garrett, who tweeted the event was a “husband shopping lunch,” received a surprise visit from her Hot 30 co-host Matt Acton, who amused the table with his fake French waiter antics. And while some of the ladies were happily coupled up, some of the single stars pointed out which guys they wouldn’t mind meeting, with Laura Dundovic an example of what can come out of the judging gig — she met her boyfriend, James Kerley, at a previous Cleo Bachelor event! The Top 50 will be announced in the April issue, on sale Mar. 19.
