Australia's Next Top Model: The Girls Make a Bubbly Splash

The theme of this week’s episode of Australia’s Next Top Model was balance, poise and focus. (And unofficially, water.) The top 16 girls were put in many wet and slippery situations — such as the joys of doing a swimwear shoot in Winter! — though the one that really tested their balance and focus was a fashion show where they had to walk on a 13-inch runway suspended over a pool — inside a clear, plastic bubble. It didn’t help that the super-windy conditions and beach-side location at Coogee in Sydney meant the chances of falling over were even higher! Izzy and Rachel both took a tumble and eventually found their way back on to their feet, while most of the girls just focused on staying upright instead of showing off Magdelana Velevska’s designs. (In response to criticism, Yolanda said, “If you wanna judge me, get into a zorb ball and do it yourself!”) It was an interesting challenge that Charlotte Dawson said was meant to put the models in confronting situations, and it was definitely high on entertainment factor.
