Last night’s grand finale of MasterChef came in two servings: Michael Weldon and Kate Bracks’ first two cooking challenges were aired on Network Ten from 6:30 p.m., and then audiences were left hanging before the reveal of their last task to replicate a dish by the best chef in the world. An episode of The Renovators was sandwiched between the two MasterChef segments at 7:30 p.m., which viewers (it seemed) either a) loved, because they’re fans of the show; b) hated, because it disrupted the flow of the grand finale; or c) were grateful for, because it gave them a chance to cook/eat/shower/do other things. MasterChef resumed at 8:30 p.m., where we finally got to see Michael and Kate battle it out over a difficult dessert called ‘The Snowman’ by Rene Redzepi from Noma in Copenhagen. At around 9:45 p.m. Kate was announced the winner, and the show ended by 10.
Ratings are yet to come through for last night’s episodes so we’re interested to know your position on having The Renovators in between MasterChef. What did you do at 7:30?
