Remember Beau Brady? He played Noah Lawson on Home and Away a few years back. He played the onscreen boyfriend of Bec Hewitt’s character Hayley, and their romance spilled into real-life, with the couple getting engaged in 2004 after four years of dating. Then Lleyton Hewitt came into the picture, swept Bec off her feet and proposed to her after only six weeks of dating. And now the Hewitts are expecting their third baby. Beau has kept on the down-low since (he was also briefly engaged to ex-Neighbours actress Natalie Blair) but now he’s given an interview to Woman’s Day to explain how gutted he was when Bec broke off their engagement. He says, “I look back at it now and realise proposing to Bec was one of the biggest mistakes I ever made. It was just a stupid, young mistake and if I had my time over, I would never, ever have proposed.” Beau, who currently works as a personal trainer and labourer, is so regretful of his and Bec’s relationship that he calls it a “mistake” and added, “Getting engaged to her has taken away some of the purity of doing that again with someone else.” And what happened to the ring? He threw it into the ocean.
