Hey, Cat and Sandra: What Happened to the Girl Code?
Big Brother 2014 has only been running for a few weeks but the drama is sky-high already — I guess that's what happens when you lock a bunch of sexually-charged people in one small-ish house, right? It's a recipe made for great reality TV but we reckon there are a couple of people out there who aren't loving what they're watching right now. Namely, Lawson and Sam's girlfriends. The two guys — 26-year-old Sam from Melbourne and 23-year-old Lawson from Perth — have been clear about the fact that they have long-term girlfriends on the outside, but that hasn't stopped fellow housemates Sandra and Cat from being even clearer about their romantic feelings for the pair.
Sandra very quickly developed a full-on crush on paralympian Sam and while he's become close to her too, he's since made it blindingly obvious it's only in a platonic sense. Things came a head for Sandra when she admitted to Lawson that she'd said too much to Sam in the bathroom at one point ("You'll always be someone else's") and Lawson played devil's advocate, telling her it wasn't all one-sided. It's all simmered down a bit now and Sandra seems to have caught wind that she's headed down a no-win path. Thank goodness, because we were starting to wonder why she was ignoring the universal girl code, "thou shalt not make moves on another person's partner," etcetera.
Someone who's still missed the memo: Cat, who seems like a genuinely sweet, soft person. She's gaga over magician Lawson and the worst part is that he's reciprocating — all on national TV for his girlfriend to see. Not the wisest move, since we all remember what a hard time poor Tully got last year when she cheated on her girlfriend at the time. But of course, none of us will ever know what it's like to be in the house, so we'll try to refrain from judging too harshly . . . For now.
