Dee's Not Happy as Close Call Sees Josh and Charlotte Take Out Ensuite Week
The Block Triple Threat is finally climbing in the TV ratings (it took the top spot in its time slot last night) and as the audience increases, so too does the drama — or so it seems!
Deanne Jolly, who we thank the TV gods for every day, is easily the most outspoken of the bunch of eight contestants, and her failure to see eye-to-eye with judge Shaynna Blaze is well-documented and thoroughly entertaining. As a result, watching the Sunday night room reveals always, always yields some talking points — that last night's was an ensuite and Darren and Dee won the previous bathroom makeover made it all the more interesting. As ever, detailed-oriented Shaynna cast a close eye over the renovation, pulling up little flaws in Darren and Dee's stunning work, such as the location of the shower tap and the spacing between the shower entrance and the towel racks. It seems like small stuff but it's important to remember that The Block auctions can go any which way, and even minute difference in quality can mean big bucks for the competing couples. Regardless, Dee didn't seem overly impressed, throwing out a number of her infamous and hilarious one-liners about the judging on the show — but she and Darren took the feedback head-on and seem more determined than ever to walk away with the best apartment.
In the end, Shaynna scored Darren and Dee well — a straight nine — but it was Joshua and Charlotte who took out the winner's prize with a combined 28.5 points out of 30. Scroll to see the ensuites, and tell us which is your favourite!
